Week 5: Module 5
This is the fifth week of the CSUMB computer science program.
The first thing we did this week was comment on at least two of our teammate's goals, which was located within their learning journals and commented with the following.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second thing we did this week was look over at least three different presentations from Capstone, while coming up with three different Capstone projects. The three Capstone projects I would do personally would be the following:
- Blockchain-based Cryptocurrency Platform - A merchant platform implemented to provide fast and affordable transactions, digital wallets, and fraud detection mechanisms. This platform is to be used as a means to store, transact, and provide seamless analytics towards users.
- AI-driven Precision Agriculture System - This system is to be used in conjecture with various sensors, while providing recommendations and implementations of irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
- Automated Blueprint Generation and Modification Tool - This system is to be used to generate and modify building blueprints, which automatically generates an initial blueprint based off a design or specification from the user, thus recommending or providing assistance in meeting requirements or regulations.
The third thing we did this week was go over the module readings and assignments. Therefore, I started the module readings intro, lecture, and writing lab.
The intro went over various aspects that we were going to learn, which included using AI for the stakeholder's analysis, a general overview of module 5 and some personal recommendations from the professor on books, while detailing how important it is to read.
The lecture went over Capstone and coming up with our own Capstone project, which certainly opened my eyes to the creativity and Enginuity of others, as their Capstone projects were intriguing not only in the tech field but also outside of it. The Capstone projects went over video games, health care, general services, and programmed support for those that aren't as technical, thus I came up with three different Capstone projects that both integrated software engineering and my personal wishes, along with career trends.
The writing lab went over the use of AI in a stakeholder's analysis, while also detailing how to create a good stakeholder analysis based off certain types of claims, such as fact, value, policy, definition, and cause. This particular reading was to make sure that we knew what to write for our stakeholder analysis, while implementing AI under certain constraints and recommendations for the ethics argumentative essay.
After the readings came the assignments, starting out with a team meeting going over a video project, along with a learning journal comment, and scheduled team meeting with the professors. The team meeting wasn't too bad, as we only needed to go over our personal thoughts on the topics and who would comment on what, while deciding on the date with the professors.
The next assignments were a collaboration, weekly survey, and quiz. The collaboration was over our personal approach on collaborating with others using certain methodologies, as to either develop a relationship or demonstrate assertions under certain positions. The weekly survey was over what we thought about last week's module, while the quiz was over how we should approach an argument.
The last assignment was to create a stakeholder's analysis using AI, which wasn't difficult and showed how much more efficient it is to use it. However, we needed to comment on whether it was ethical to use the prompt as-is for our essay, which I personally said that it wasn't, as you should demonstrate your own personal thoughts or knowledge within the essay and not fully rely on AI to do it for you.
The last thing we needed to do was discuss on whether we were going for graduate school or internship. I personally don't have any plans for graduate school due to my lack of experience and money, but I will seek out an internship to gain experience and the connections necessary to further my career. Internships are important in not only gaining the necessary experience, skills, and connections but also in furthering one's own career, as without an internship you would find that you lack certain qualities that employers want from their candidates.
In the end, this is the end of module 5 and I hope to keep going strong.
